Released on on japan Sin & Punishment for the N64 was a hit on asian borders with it's fast rail shooting gameplay. Americas didn't get the game until recently when it was made downloadable for the Virtual Console. Sin & Punishment: Star Successor is the sequel to the original n64 game, the main character Isa Jo is the son of the main character Saki on the N64 game. Kachi is the female character on Star Successor, not much detailed from her because she's a alien that doesn't remember her past.
The game starts with Isa and Kachi running away from earth because Isa was suppose to kill Kachi, but since he decided not to they are now being hunted by The Nebulox who are a group of 5 hunters. So the game is about trying to escape from this earth. : D
The story line is told with voice actors which most people don't like, I have to agree that it is a bit tacky but they sound ok. The graphics on this game aren't really that good, in fact they are like those of a gamecube game but overall they do make impression. And the graphics in this game don't matter much since the screen gets cover in all sorts of monsters and lasers.
The gameplay is a fast rail shooter where you just point at the screen and shoot while the camera screen moves on it's own. It may sound simple but it can get difficult as you get on the harder stages. The only options you get in this game are, shoot, dodge, melee attack, and charged shot. The game moves on fast and sometimes it's hard to keep up with some of the faster enemies but overall the game's gameplay is very fun and enjoyable.
The music in this game doesn't stand out much since it is covered by the sound of your shots and the enemies shots. If leader boards is what you like then this has a online leader board option where you can compare you high scores with others and with your friends. Another option in this game is the ability to change controllers, you can use nunchucks, Classic controller/pro, Gamecube controller, and my favorite, the wii zapper.
OVERALL: The game is fun even if your not into rail shooting games, and if you enjoy games that give it to you straight forward then this is a good choice to have in your collection. Even if your not planning on buying it, renting this game to try it out is a good idea, for this is a short game and it is not recommended that you waist 50$ on it just yet.
I'm making a playthrough of this game so if you're interested but don't want to really play it, check out my videos it will have the entire gameplay including the cut scenes and stuff. I would appreciated it. : D
